Sometimes there are moments that don’t have wordsFor once, this inability to write is a good thing. Because these moments mattered in a way that words insufficiently declare, and thankfully it all doesn’t have to be constrained to a paragraph. My joy wouldn’t fit anyway.

Our time in Alaska had been planned for longer than we had even been engaged. We originally planned to elope there, but circumstances meant our elopement itself was in Seattle. That day was the most holy of all, and I cannot WAIT to share our photos from our wedding day. But because Alaska was already booked, we jumped on a plane anyway and had the beginning of our trip with India Earl and her husband Jay. We took our wedding clothes and went to the glacier we originally were going to get married on. We spoke our vows again, this time a few days into marriage, and it was almost as powerful as the first time.

If you’ve made it this far and are a reader (no shame for those who only look at the pictures!), I want you to hear this. Those moments on the glacier held the kind of love we were designed for, a tenderness that we’d tasted in part but not yet in full, a feeling of coming home to a home half-remembered where we were fully known yet deeply loved.

I saw the heart of Jesus in Camron in those moments, eyes full of affection and a deep knowing of me – knowing, ידוע, yada – ‘oh Lord, you have searched me and you yada me,’ (Ps 139:1), you know me; even before there was a word on my tongue you knew it. This knowing, this ‘I see your mess but I choose you,’ this ‘no matter what I will love you’ kind of love is what I experienced from Camron on the glacier. And what I’ll keep experiencing as we experience more of the knowing, seeing, unrelenting love of Jesus.

Go and check out India Earl’s INCREDIBLE work here.

I wish I could share WAY MORE but there are some upcoming features so I have to hold off but GET EXCITED and keep your eye on India’s website for the full set of photos!!
